Speak image and sketch references. Verify orientation and location after the field session. Keep the source media and metadata connected to the station record.

Work safely

Use stable positions away from cliffs, traffic, water, machinery and unstable ground. Follow site, weather and lone-working controls before dictating. Complete a structured debrief later where direct recording would distract from safety.

  1. Transfer and preserve source files.
  2. Correct station, place and technical names.
  3. Verify measurements and sample IDs.
  4. Match images and maps.
  5. Separate observations, interpretations and follow-up questions.
