How to Compare Transcript Versions After Reprocessing

Reviewed and updated: 21 July 2026.

Reprocessing audio with a different model, language setting or corrected speaker list can create a new transcript that is better in some places and worse in others. Never overwrite the reviewed version without comparison.

Preserve version identity

Name each transcript with processing date, model or setting where known, and review status. Keep the source audio identifier attached.

Compare material categories

  • Speaker labels.
  • Names and terminology.
  • Numbers and dates.
  • Negative and conditional wording.
  • Paragraph boundaries.
  • Missing or added speech.

Use a difference log

Timestamp Version A Version B Audio check Approved wording
18:42 “not approved” “now approved” Replay required Reviewer enters result

Do not choose by overall fluency

A smoother transcript can contain more dangerous factual substitutions. Score critical details separately.

How NERALVO Halo fits

NERALVO Halo preserves source audio for later DOWAY processing. Keep that source available while comparing important transcript changes.

Approve one controlled transcript after comparison and mark older drafts as superseded without destroying required audit history.
