  • requirement and controlled source
  • load, diversity and environmental assumptions
  • protection, earthing and interface questions
  • credible options considered
  • safety, maintainability and lifecycle impacts
  • selected option and approval authority
  • calculations, drawings and verification still required
  • condition that would reopen the decision

A meeting agreement does not update the design. Apply the approved change to drawings, calculations, settings, risk information and test plans before implementation.

Manually check voltage, current, resistance, impedance, frequency, decimal points, prefixes, circuit references, terminal numbers, protection types, settings, phase information, drawing revisions and standard references. Values such as 30 mA, 300 mA and 3 A can all sound plausible in context but lead to completely different decisions.

Create an energisation-readiness record

Before energisation or release, the controlled process—not the transcript—should confirm:

  • required inspections and tests are complete
  • results meet acceptance criteria
  • defects and deviations are resolved or formally controlled
  • settings and software revisions are correct
  • drawings and labels match the installation
  • interfaces and dependencies are ready
  • authorised people have approved the next state
