A failed sync does not always mean the recording is lost. The source may still exist on the recorder while the phone, Bluetooth connection or app has failed to display or transfer it.
Do not erase the device
Keep the recorder charged and avoid reset, deletion or repeated uncontrolled attempts. Record the file name, approximate duration and time of the failed transfer.
Check the layers in order
- Confirm the recording appears locally on the device where possible.
- Check battery on recorder and phone.
- Confirm Bluetooth and app permissions.
- Close competing connections.
- Restart the approved app, not the entire workflow at random.
- Test with a short non-sensitive recording.
- Use the documented support or export route if transfer still fails.
Separate sync from processing
A file can transfer successfully but fail during transcription. Confirm whether the problem is device-to-phone movement, upload, AI processing or display.
Preserve evidence
Take screenshots of errors and note app version, phone model, operating system and available storage. This makes support diagnosis more useful.
How NERALVO Halo fits recovery
NERALVO Halo captures locally before Bluetooth sync with DOWAY. Treat the local source as valuable until transfer and processing are verified.
Build a fallback
Important workflows need a defined recovery owner, support route and time limit before an alternative note or evidence process begins. Test recovery before relying on the recorder for critical work.
